How to register a .it domain, step by step

From choosing a name to registrant details and nameserver configuration.

Choose a name you will actually use

Start with your business or project name. Check how it sounds aloud and how easily someone can spell it. An availability search is not a reservation: the name is assigned only after registrar confirmation.

Before paying, check spelling, the service term and renewal costs. Consider consistent email addresses and possible confusion with other trademarks. Technical availability is not a trademark clearance.

Prepare the holder and connections

Use details for the person or company that should hold the domain. For .it, check registry eligibility and supply required tax and identity information. Do not invent details to avoid verification.

After confirmation, connect your website using records supplied by your host. Publish your email provider’s records separately. Keep account access and monitor expiry messages: buying a domain does not automatically create a website or mailbox.
