Separate services before moving
The registrar manages the name’s registration. Hosting, mailboxes and DNS may come from different companies. Transferring the domain does not copy website files, messages or old hosting settings.
Inventory nameservers, DNS records and any DNSSEC settings. Keep access to the current registrar and domain contact. If email depends on the old contract, arrange a separate migration before cancelling it.
Confirm the result, not just the request
Request the AuthInfo code from the current registrar and treat it as confidential. Review the new operation’s quote: any added term and fees depend on the extension and service.
After the move, check the holder, expiry and website and email resolution. If a request remains pending or the registrar cannot confirm its outcome, check its status before repeating it.
