Who can register a .it domain outside Italy
Registro .it permits registration by adults with citizenship, residence or an establishment in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, San Marino or Vatican City. The applicable conditions depend on the holder type. A company cannot automatically substitute a representative’s personal citizenship for its own establishment requirement.
Spain is within the European Economic Area. A person resident in Spain or a business established there can therefore meet the requirements when its details and other conditions are correct. Do not invent an Italian address: use the real registrant’s address and applicable identifiers.
Cases that need review before payment
Registry eligibility and a reseller’s automated checkout coverage are separate checks. ITDomain checkout handles individuals and companies with addresses in supported countries. Sole traders, self-employed applicants and citizenship-only applications with residence outside the supported area need support review before payment.
For example, an Italian citizen living in the United States may meet a registry requirement but should request case review before proceeding on ITDomain. Use a support ticket or support@itdomain.it. Do not send passwords or identity-document copies in a general message.
How to buy and manage the domain remotely
Search for the .it name and check the total for your chosen term. Sign in with the email you will use for the registrant, complete the required details and review the .it form. Keep the copy sent by ITDomain. Search does not reserve the name, and payment does not replace acceptance of the registration request.
Once active, connect a website hosted by your preferred supplier and choose an email service for the project. Edit DNS in your account with managed nameservers, or at your chosen external DNS supplier. ITDomain support is available through email or tickets when you are outside Italy too.
