Who should hold your business domain
The registrant should be the company that will use the name. Enter its legal name and authorised representative details in the form. A domain registered using an employee’s personal details does not automatically become a registration in the company’s name. Settle the ownership decision before paying.
If an agency builds your website, you can manage the domain in your account and supply the required DNS records. You can later move hosting without choosing a new address. Keep the registrant email accessible: domain notices can require action.
What to prepare before buying
A .it registration needs accurate identity, tax and contact details. Companies must meet the registry’s establishment requirements. ITDomain presents the applicable form and asks for explicit acceptance. Payment confirmation alone does not mean the name has been assigned.
Online checkout distinguishes individuals and companies. Sole traders, self-employed applicants and cases the form cannot represent should request support review before payment. Registrar or registry checks may require documents; registration is not promised without verification.
- Company legal name and representative details.
- Verified account email and working registrant contact details.
- Correct domain spelling, selected term and services to connect.
Your website and email can use different suppliers
Domain registration does not require buying hosting. With ITDomain managed nameservers, edit DNS records in your account. With external nameservers, manage records at that supplier. Preserve website and mail records before switching.
An address such as hello@yourbusiness.it also needs a mailbox. Buy one separately or connect an external email service using its supplied records. Your domain remains separate from your website, email and business software.
